Bentley!

So here she is, Bentley, our new puppy.

We introduced her to Tink and Miki yesterday evening and that went different than I expected. I thought Tinkerbell would be mean to her and try showing her dominance like she does to every other dog we see, but she didn't. Her and Miki were very curious and tried to check out the new pup. Bentley got a little nervous and growled at them a few times and even chased Miki for a second. After that Miki stayed away and pouted, looking sad all evening. Tink decided to just ignore Bentley and she did a good job, she did get a little scared when the puppy accidently stepped on her tail though.

The shelter doesn't clean them at all before sending them home to us and we're not allowed to get her belly wet since she just got spayed, so Josh gave her a wipe down bath and cleaned out her ears.

Bentley liked climbing in her big water bowl and was cuddling with Josh non-stop! She is such a little lover. I was surprised at how well she did in her crate last night too. She cried the first time we put her in, but it didn't last very long cuz she was pooped out. And then when we put her in for bed time she cried for a few minutes then was good all night. Josh let her out this morning before he went to work and when he put her back in she made two little cries then went back to sleep. (This made me really happy because then I was able to go back to sleep too) She only had one accident in the house last night, and it sure is a BIG difference in the size of puddle from my little dogs! Her ribs are showing right now so she may look a little weird in her pics, but she will fatten up fast.

Here is a pic of Bentley loving Josh, and one of Tink snuggling with him too.

A New Addition to our Home!!

Yes that's right, Josh and I are adding a baby to our family! (NO not a REAL human baby) A Puppy!
Yesterday we went and adopted a puppy from the shelter. Those who really know me will of course understand why I would want to add a 3rd dog to our home. Other people might think we're crazy, and maybe we are a little bit. Especially considering the puppy we got is a pitbull/lab mix (we think)that will be a big strong dog, and my two existing dogs are little 5lb furballs. We're planning on everything working out just fine since the puppy will learn while she's young to be gentle with the little dogs and she should hopefully grow up to be a big teddy bear. We don't get to bring her home until tomorrow evening, which is kind of a bummer since we know she's ours now.
We had an interesting time at the shelter..... I'm a HUGE animal person, and I love love LOVE my dogs. While Josh and I were walking through the rows of caged dogs, most of whom were older adult dogs that will probably never be adopted, I was getting very sad at the way these dogs would look at me and get all hopeful if I'd go over to their cage. I walked past this one cage and after I passed it this little ugly white dog started almost screaming and crying. So I went back and scratched him and pet him for a bit and was thinking about how sad my Tinkerbell would be if she was lost and then thrown in that cage. I got up to catch up to Josh and the dog started screaming/crying again, so I petted him some more. He shut his eyes and looked so relieved that someone had noticed him. I couldn't control myself and I started getting teary eyed, I tried to stop, but I couldn't. I got up and walked over to Josh (The dog screaming/crying as I left) and when Josh saw my face he asked what was wrong. I felt stupid because I really shouldn't be crying, but I told him the dog was sad. He gave me a funny look and then started laughing. It took me a few minutes to calm my eyes down and I had to hurry and get out of that section so that dog would stop crying too. LOL so yeah.... I'm a big baby when it comes to dogs.
Anyways, we found our new baby in the very last section we went into. She was such a cute little girl with a pot belly. Some of her ribs were showing and her hip bones too, she probably hadn't eaten much before the shelter got her. She has the head of a pitbull with the ears of a lab and some yellow lab coloring on her too, it's a really pretty color. We got her out to play and the first thing she did was jump in Josh's lap. After she got there she didn't want to move at all, she just sort of hugged him. lol. She didn't bark once, even when we walked her through all of the other dogs that barked at us like crazy. All she wanted was to be loved. Josh fell in love with her, and I think it didn't hurt that the puppy wanted only to be in his lap.
She's getting spayed tomorrow and then we get to bring her home!! We're pretty excited (If you couldn't tell from my post) and Josh is happy he gets his big dog to play with.

Honeymoon Cruise

Josh and I just got back from our week long Mexican Riviera cruise and it was a BLAST! We had a great time and made some new great friends. I was sad to leave, but at the same time missed my doggies and my big bathroom. (Those cruise ship ones are just so tiny)

Our cruise ended up being a little different than planned as there was a big tropical storm (Lowell) that was hitting Cabo the same day we were supposed to be stopping there. So our captain made the decision to skip Cabo since the port was closed, spend an extra day on the ship instead of on land, and go straight to the last stop of Puerto Vallarta. We ended up being there for 2 days because Mazatlan was also being hit by the storm. People, including us, were not happy about the changes and missing out on two of our ports. But in spite of the changes Joah and I had a good time. We took a tour of the city and beach areas and did some shopping on our first day. Then on the second day we went to a resort and hung out on the beach with our new friends Geoff and Desiree. We went jetskiing on the ocean, which is totally different than on a lake! And we had a little problem with the mexican security guards, but still had a good time. The water was so warm it was great!

On Friday our captain made the decision to "try" to stop in Cabo on our way back if the water was calm enough. Turns out it was a beautiful day and we got to spend half of it in beautiful Cabo San Lucas. We went on an excursion with Geoff and Desiree again and it was so much fun! We went on a catamaran out to this beach area then did some snorkling. The water was pretty murky because of the storm that went through the two days before, but there were tons of fish that were not scared of us at all. We were actually more scared of them than they were of us, especially after Geoff got bit by one. lol

We had a lot of fun and got lucky with making some new awesome friends! I'm sad to be back and have to get back to real life, but we made some good memories.

Miki's Haircut

So we took our doggie Miki to get her haircut because she is really fluffy and has been shedding everywhere. Here are her before and after pics. She looks like a little lion now and lost about 10lbs of fur. Silly little girl....

Just an Update

Last week we found two houses we like out in Maricopa and put in an offer in on both of them. They are both in a short sale situation so we have to wait for one of the banks to approve our offer before moving forward. The normal situation with short sales usually take months to even get a response from the bank, blah! So now we just have to sit and wait and hope one of our offers gets accepted. I hate waiting!
Next week Josh and I are going on our honeymoon cruise! Yay, I'm so excited! I went on a cruise last Novemeber with my friend Michele and we had a blast. I'm excited to be able to go with Josh and spend all that time having fun together. I'm ready for a break from work and I think he is too.
Josh is changing squads at work so he will be on a different schedule now. He will finally have Sundays off and be able to go to church with me! :) I'm pretty happy about this too because I've been going to church by myself for a long time and it will be nice to have my husband with me. The only thing that sucks about his new schedule is that now he has to work on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve AND New Years Day!!! How sad is that! Sigh..... oh well, going to church every Sunday is more important than being at home on the holidays.
