New House *Pics*

So I finally got around to taking some pictures of our new house. My battery on my digital camera was still dead, so these are from my the camera on my phone.

Here is our front room.....

And the living room.....

And the kitchen!

Last week Josh and I started working on backyard landscaping. We're not done yet, but this is part of our backyard after what he have done so far.....
Our upstairs isn't exactly in picture condition right now, so those will have to come later.

Some Picture Updates

I haven't been able to load my camera's pictures for a while so these are a little late, but I still wanted to share.
These are some pics of our new living room. Before we moved in Josh and I re painted it to a more calm, relaxing color.

The built in was not fun at all to paint! We had to tape off each square.... it was a long tedious job, but looks gooooood now!
Here is a pic of our new blinds we had installed in the house before we moved in. They look great and match my kitchen cupboards.

On a Side Note.... My little sister Melanie got married on November 8th. They originally had a date set for January of '09, but they decided to move it up (way up). Don't be sad if you weren't invited, it was basically just the direct family. I think they are planning on having a reception type thing in January still....
Here are a few pics. My camera's battery died after only a few shots so this is all I have for now.

This weekend we are doing more home improvement projects. Well one really. We are working on the backyard!! Today we're picking up some trees to replace the dead ones we got with the house. (Josh spent his days off this week pulling those all out and digging holes for the new ones) I'm excited about it, I know the yard will look great!!

Dangerous Bagels

I love to have bagels for breakfast! The only problem is that while I'm cutting my delicious bagel in half, I tend to go a little too far and cut my fingers. I hurt myself about 50% of the time! The other morning I got myself worse than usual.....in my poor little pinky finger. It was bleeding and hurt, fairly bad, and I was sorta hopping around breathing loudly trying not to say any bad words. (My dogs were very confused)
Well later when I got home from work I showed Josh my owie and told him the story. He told me I needed to get one of those special bagel cutters that does it for me, because he likes my fingers where they are. (I'll add that to my christmas list)
The very next morning when I went to grab a bagel to cut open I noticed that somebody (My Joshy Pooh) had already cut it for me and put it back in the bag. How sweet is that!?
I guess he really does love me, and my fingers :)

Talent{less}

I've never considered myself to be very talented... at anything really. Every time there would be a talent show or someone asking for examples of talents you have, I felt like I couldn't really participate.

I've never been musically gifted, I have a few sisters that are good at playing the piano, but I could never pick it up. I used to ride horses and I was "ok" at it, but my best friend that I rode with was a lot more confident and to this day still rides and I believes now teaches others how to ride. My mom put me and two of my sisters through some dance classes, and I don't believe I was to great at that either. I also have a grandma that is very artistic and loves to paint and draw and is Very good at it... nope, I didn't get any of that in my genes either.

At this point in my life I think the things I am best at are loving my husband, loving my dog (because she loves me SO much I MUST be doing something right there), paying bills (even though I Hate it!), and now facebook. LOL. So you see I don't seem to have the most exceptional of "talents"......

Well I found this quote on one of my friend's blogs and now I'm stealing it for my own. ;) It made me feel a little better about my Talent{less}ness. Hopefully someday when the time comes for me to be a mom I will be Very talented at that, and bringing the spirit into our home, and at being a wonderful wife. (I do try Josh, and I love you so much!) (And I'll try to be a good wife BEFORE we have kids.... hehe)

"You may think you don't have talents, but that is a false assumption, for we all have talents and gifts, every one of us. The bounds of creativity extend far beyond the limits of a canvas or a sheet of paper and do not require a brush, a pen, or the keys of a piano. Creation means bringing into existence something that did not exist before—colorful gardens, harmonious homes, family memories, flowing laughter. What you create doesn't have to be perfect. Don't let fear of failure discourage you. Don't let the voice of critics paralyze you—whether that voice comes from the outside or the inside. As you take the normal opportunities of your daily life and create something of beauty and helpfulness, you improve not only the world around you but also the world within you.I believe that as you create beauty and as you are compassionate to others—God will encircle you in the arms of His love. Discouragement, inadequacy, and weariness will give way to a life of meaning, grace, and fulfillment." - Deiter F. Uchtdorf

Halloween

So about a month ago I asked Josh what married people do for Halloween, since the parties I've been going to for the past 5 years have been for singles. He told me married people don't do much, maybe go to a married couples party. Well it turned out that we didn't do anything to celebrate this first holiday as a married couple. (at first I was sad about it, but then it really wasn't that hard missing halloween this year) We moved the morning after Halloween so we spent the night of Halloween picking up a Uhaul truck (which was a lovely experience, NOT!), going to walmart for last second things we needed and packing up some misc items at home. Josh's dad flew in Friday afternoon so he would be there to help us move so he got to be dragged all over with us too.
On Saturday the 1st of November my dad and older sister Rebecca drove down from Snowflake AZ to help us with the move too. We started at about 7:45am, finished loading everything up at about 12:30pm, then made the treck out to maricopa where our new home is. I think we finally finished unloading everything at about 5pm. It was a long day!! And since our new house is a 2 story, that made it even more exhuasting. We had an interesting time trying to get our huge corner armoire up the turns in the stairs. I thought one of our dad's would come out with a broken back or something worse, but we made with only several gashes in the wall that Josh will fix soon. lol

I made the drive to work this morning and it was better than I expected it to be. We'll see how the drive home treats me tonight. I'll be getting some pics to put up once we have some more stuff organized at home. We are very happy with the house and glad to have the move over with!
Here is the only Halloween spirit we had at home this year....
